The Castellu de Cinarca occupies a very special place in Corsican medieval history. Situated on a rocky summit that is relatively difficult to access, it directly overlooks the present-day town of Tiuccia and the beach of Liscia.
The Castellu de Cinarca occupies a very special place in Corsican medieval history. Situated on a rocky summit that is relatively difficult to access, it directly dominates the present-day town of Tiuccia and the beach of La Liscia. This natural height, bordered by vertiginous peaks, constitutes a defensive element of primary importance which dispenses with the digging of a ditch or the construction of complex structures.
To get there, take the junction at Liscia/Masorchia (D601), go straight up to the end of the asphalt and the beginning of the dirt track. Leave the vehicle and start walking along the path. 5 minutes further on, on the left at an electric post with a blue label, the hiking trail begins which will lead to the summit. From the top you can enjoy the view over the Gulf of Sagone, Tiuccia and the Genoese towers of Capigliolu as well as the whole Cinarca valley.
