It has undergone a remarkable renovation and is now accessible via a pathway in the pedestrianised lane behind the Tourist Office. The tower can be visited and there is a permanent exhibition on shoreline fortification inside.
The Genoese Tower of Porto underwent a major restoration campaign in the 1990s and now houses a museum with a permanent exhibition on the history of Genoese towers in Corsica and on the fortification of the shores
