The beautiful village of Serriera is situated on a hillside planted with olive trees, surrounded by forests and overlooking the Gulf of Porto. It is part of the territory of the regional natural park of Corsica. It was built recently, in 1864, and is located in the heart of a micro-region that was deserted for several centuries.

The beautiful village of Serriera is situated on a hillside planted with olive trees, surrounded by forests and overlooking the Gulf of Porto. It is part of the territory of the regional natural park of Corsica. Recently built, it dates back to 1864, and is located in the heart of a micro-region that was desertified for several centuries, notably because of the famous "cinarchesi war". You can visit the pretty church of Sainte-Marie, built at the beginning of the 20th century, like most of the buildings in the village. It has a square bell tower with three floors and a small lantern.
In the heart of the region is also the remarkable Sabinetu territorial forest, classified in the national forest inventory of the "Plains and Hillsides of the Ajaccio Region". The presence of the Corsican mouflon is also noted.
The commune also shares the Evisa/Ota/Serriera communal forest, composed of conifers.
There is no shortage of hiking sites in Serriera either, which offers a wide variety of landscapes, ranging from forest to scrubland, passing through exceptional capes or protected areas.
Serriera and its surroundings offer a rich and extraordinarily varied natural heritage and on its seafront there is the much sought-after beach of Bussaglia, with pebbles but with some sand.
The atmosphere is quite wild and family oriented but with a view on the Calanche de Piana and its privileged situation, the beach of Bussaglia is one of the must for bathing and relaxation

A little history:
A hamlet, now ruined, is accessible by a mule track from the village. Pinito was abandoned at the end of the 19th century and a nice 3-hour walk there and back allows you to discover this deserted village in the Middle Ages.
A few ruined houses and gardens bear witness to the past life of a community that moved back to the village of Serriera, which is closer to all amenities.
