The lake of Creno, in Corsican lagu di Crenu, is the only wooded lake in Corsica surrounded by laricio pines. Water lilies have covered part of the surface since they were planted some twenty years ago. Situated in the region of the two sorru, above the village of Orto, in the Monte Rotondo massif, the lake culminates at 1310 metres and is only accessible by footpath. Take the D70 to Vico and then the D23 to Soccia. Take the road above the village which leads to a car park. The path starts at the car park and follows the river on the northern side of Monte Sant Eliseo. It takes about 1 hour to reach the lake of Creno, which has a surface of 2.4 hectares and remains frozen for 3 to 4 months a year. The surroundings of the lake are beautiful with forests of laricio pines.
