Porto's 16th-century powder magazine was once a military building, a Genoese store, an auditorium and then an aquarium.
This red granite building, typical of the Porto region, now houses the tourist office on one side and an exhibition hall on the other.
A permanent exhibition of photos by Mr Tomasi, one of Corsica's leading photographers, retraces the evolution of Porto and Girolata since the early 20th century, and is on show all year round.
Temporary exhibitions by Corsican artists are also organized in this emblematic and authentic venue.
